SF bay area artisan chocolatier and Berkeley, California organic brewery team up to create a a limited edition beer chocolate confection.

Emeryville, California, November 1, 2011 – Local SF Bay area artisan chocolatier Coco Délice Fine Chocolates and Bison Organic Brewing Company have teamed up to bring the chocolate and beer loving public together with Bison Black Magic chocolate.

The chocolatiers at Coco Délice Fine Chocolates created Bison Black Magic after several months of experimenting with Bison’s Organic Chocolate Stout. Characterized by the SF Bay Guardian as ” Barry White’s voice in a bottle,” Bison’s Organic Chocolate Stout provides a luscious malty complement to Coco Délice’ dark chocolate ganache.

“Using Bison’s Organic Chocolate Stout adds a variety of flavors, rich with added hints of malt and molasses,” said Coco Délice chocolate chef and founder Dennis Kearney. “We have had a wildly positive response to this new chocolate.”

“It was a natural fit,” said Daniel Del Grande, owner and brewer at Bison. “We are thrilled to be able to work with another great local producer.”

The two companies first discussed plans for ‘wedding’ chocolate and beer in 2010 before launching a series of limited edition beer-enhanced chocolates. Future chocolates include products made from Bison’s Gingerbread Ale and the organic brewer’s Single Hop IPA.

Coco Délice produces a variety of chocolates made with spirits and wine including a Cognac truffle and a Sonoma Brut truffle. The company was awarded a Gold Medal for Best Truffle at the 2010 San Francisco International Chocolate Salon.

Coco Délice is also well known for its expertise in custom manufacturing. Among its most notable custom confections, Coco Délice created absinthe-filled and single-malt whiskey-filled chocolates for Alameda’s famed St. George Distillery. Other custom clients include Pixar Studios, Google and leading premium retailers.

Bison Black Magic chocolates are available at select Whole Foods, the Pasta Shop, and other Bay area food and beverage stores. Products are also available for purchase through the Coco Délice website www.cocodelice.com and at the company’s production facility in Emeryville. Retail price for the limited edition six-pack of chocolates is $12.99.
