This privacy statement discloses the privacy practices for the Coco Délice Fine Chocolates web site located at www.cocodelice.com.
CocoDelice.com is a wholly owned service of Coco Délice Fine Chocolates of P.O. Box 194243, San Francisco, CA 94119-4243. Herein where this document refers to " “CocoDelice.com " or " Coco Délice Fine Chocolates" it refers to the same organization.
Because Coco Délice Fine Chocolates is committed to your privacy, we adhere to the following policy:
1. Personal Information
1.a CocoDelice.com uses its online customers' personal demographic [name, address, and the names and addresses of recipient of gifts from you] and financial information [credit card information], as voluntarily supplied to us at the point of purchase, for the exclusive purpose of enabling the sales transaction and delivery of Coco Délice Fine Chocolates to the customer. The customer’s information is not supplied to third parties except in the case that it is required by law. Coco Délice Fine Chocolates may at times use general demographic information for internal statistical analysis, or provide statistical analysis to third parties which does identify individual customers.
1.b CocoDelice.com may at any time request your voluntary participation in a consumer survey that would provide personal demographic information for marketing purposes, customer service improvements, or to provide general statistical analysis to third parties.
1.c Coco Délice Fine Chocolates may also use access information as provided by the act of visiting our site including but not limited to your IP Address, and your activity while on the site for internal purposes or to provide to third parties as required by law. This access information would not be used in an attempt to identify you except in the case of legal action resulting from illegal activity on your part.
1.d As the information described in paragraphs 1.a through 1.c is supplied voluntarily by the user through the act of visiting the site, or providing the information on a form at CocoDelice.com, Coco Délice Fine Chocolates is not responsible for its accuracy. We have provided forms under the "My Account" feature that allows you to modify, add, or delete personal information.
1.e We use an outside shipping company to ship orders, and a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. To our knowledge, these companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
2. Information Storage
Information supplied by user, with the exception of financial information, will be stored in our database for the user's future reference. This information is protected by SSL encryption (described in paragraph 4.b) and a challenge-response username and password supplied exclusively to you at the point of your first purchase.
3. Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive connecting the user to information her previously offered, or selected. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates.
4. Security
4.a This web site takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the web site, your information is protected both online and off-line.
4.b When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software available in the industry - SSL. Typically, while on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Firefox or Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just ‘surfing’. Currently, the lock icon is not apparent because the secured page is contained within a frameset. However, if you view the properties of the ordering pages you can verify that these pages are in fact encrypted using a Verisign Digital ID. (Eugene-is this accurate??)
4.c While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. All employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as any time new policies are added, our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers’ information is protected. Finally, the servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure environment.

5. Customer Interaction
5.a We send all customers an email receipt to verify purchase and access information.
5.b Established customers may occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, or news. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications via email request. If you have received a promotional email and were not given the opportunity to opt out you may send an opt out request to: info@cocodelice.com.
5.c We may send the user site and service announcement updates which contain important information about the service or site operations. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via email or phone.
6. Remedies
If you feel that this company is not abiding by its posted privacy policy, please contact Coco Délice Fine Chocolates at: (415) 407-8413, or via email at: info@cocodelice.com. If you do not receive acknowledgment of your inquiry or your inquiry has not been satisfactorily addressed, you should then contact the Better Business Bureau, or consumer protection agency of your choosing.
7. Changes to this Policy
Coco Délice Fine Chocolates retains the right to change this policy at any time. Upon such changes, affected customers will be notified via email. It is the responsibility of the user to check this policy periodically to stay current with changes.
